It starts out playing the scene that is over played sooooo many times through out the series, but is kind of important.
Inu Yasha our main character bursts through a net. He laughs at the villagers that try to capture him and are unsuccessful.
They scream, INU YASHA-SAMA yada yada. He breaks into the shrine that was protecting a sacred jewel called Shikon No Tama.
He grabs the jewel and the villagers come through the door thinking they can stop him, ha-ha! He says to himself that with
this jewel he can become a real demon. A woman (A miko called Kikyuo) yells Inu Yasha painfully and shoots an arrow at him.
The arrow directly hits him and the jewel falls from his hand. The arrow takes him backward pinning him to a tree. The wind
blows through Kikyuos hair as you see a blood trail to the spot shes standing. Inu Yasha with his last words says Bitchhow
dare you(which later on is translated as many different things but that doesnt matter.) Kikyou stumbles with her blood trail
behind her and bends down to pick up the jewel. A little girl followed by villagers run up to her. The little girl is Kikyous
little sister Kaede tells her, her wound looks terrible. Kikyou says its all because of the jewel and grasps it. She asks
Kaede to have it burned with her remains and falls to the ground because of the wound on her shoulder. Kikyous body is burned
along with the Jewel. Then it goes to present day Japan. Kagome (our leading lady!) is sitting in a shrine with her grandfather.
It is her 15th birthday. Her grandfather is nutty and is trying to sell a bunch of imitation Shikon No Tama jewels, and nobody
in the present knows what the story behind the real one is. One morning Kagome is on her way to school and her little brother
Souta stops her, saying that Buyo the cat is down in this old little building where the concealed well is. Kagome basically
calls him a baby because he thinks its too creepy to go down and find Buyo so she goes down the steps. She hears sounds coming
from inside the well, but the cat jumps out and scares her and she screams. She yells at her little brother saying she found
the cat for him. Meanwhile, her back is toward the well, Soutas eyes widen and something burst out of the well. The something
grabs Kagome who drops the cat. This weird looking thing with lots of arms drags Kagome deeper into the well. Trying to absorb
her saying you have it dont you. Kagome doesnt know what she is talking about and in a scared motion puts her hand to the
somethings face releasing an unknown power. She lands back in the well and arms fall at her feet. She thinks its weird but
calls for Souta and tells him to go get her grandfather or her mother. Except he doesnt answer, Kagome thinks that hes run
away scared. She climbs out of the well, to find herself no longer in Kansas ;-) I mean Tokyo Japan. She sits on the well
and is completely dumbfounded, wondering where she is. She walks a bit and sees a familiar tree, she runs to it but instead
of finding comfort she sees a young boy pinned to the tree with vines growing on him. She walks up on a branch and it seems
as if hes only sleeping. She sees that he has ears and has the urge to play with them. Then some villagers come wanting to
kill her. They tie her hands and feet and question her, saying she has weird clothing, oooo nooo maybe shes a spy yada yada,
but ALAS and old woman come through, the villagers call her ooo wait a minute, couldnt be KAEDE hmmm. Kaede looks at Kagome,
and thinks that she looks like her dead sister. She unties Kagome and apologizes to her offering her food. Kagome asks if
she is still in Tokyo and Kaede looks at her not knowing what that is.
All of a sudden the "something" from the well which turns out to be a giant centepede monster bursts out and destroys some
houses. She is after Kagome. Kagome decides to run hoping that the monster won't hurt the villagers. She runs to Inu Yasha
forest, and as she is running she screams help which wakes Inu Yasha up. I thinks he smells kikyuo. He starts talking to
kagome like she's kikyuo and kagome tries to tell him she is kagome but the centepede wraps around the tree wrapping both
her and inu yasha. It absorbs the jewel that came from inside kagome's body. Inu Yasha asks kagome to pull out the arrow
so she does and he defeats the monster. He then turns and demands he be given the jewel. and kagome says so this guy wasn't
a hero?
